Movie Review of Spiderman (2002)
to The Amazing Spiderman (2012)

I couldn’t resist but re-blog on Gordon’s latest blog on the
original Spiderman from 2002 to its remake into The Amazing Spiderman 2012.I honestly love Spiderman and it has to be one of my
absolute favourite superhero movies. Maybe its only cause I understand the
storyline.. LOL
Spiderman/ Peter Parker
Tobey Maguire defines the cute and qwerky Peter Parker and
to the contrast between both films as pointed out by Gordon as the role of
Peter Parker was passed on to adapt to the present days cute and qwerky high
school kid, Andrew Garfield. I totally agree with Gordon that Tobey Maguire will always come to my mind when i think of Spiderman.
Spiderman 2002 is my childhood film and all us oldies will agree that Andrew Garfield is a different Peter Parker. But he is modern and a kid of this decade. He loves to skateboard and hes a science nerd but they didn't change Peter Parkers original love for photography :)
Mary Jane Watson to Gwen Stacy
What can I say I am a die hard for romance and
all cute happy love stories. And my favourite part of Spiderman is Peter Parker’s
romance. I was so shocked the director of The Amazing Spiderman 2012, Marc Webb
decided to completely change the original role of Mary Jane Watson not only
from the Spiderman 2002 version but from the original comics of Spiderman. The
all new Gwen Stacy was introduced a role more linked to Spiderman exploit. Mary
Jane had her own ambitions and own plot in the original Spiderman 2002, but I love
that Gwen Stacy relates to Peter Parker’s interest in science and with her dad
in charge of catching Spiderman, the role of Gwen surrounds the endeavors of
Peter Parker. But most of all i love that Gwen loves Parker without knowing he is Spiderman and that she loves both Spiderman and Parker the same <3
I personally love Emma Stone more than Kirsten Dunst, maybe because Ive watched more of Stones films in comparison to Dunst. Stone had graciously modernised the role of Peter Parker's love interest. But in summary i love the new Gwen Stacy as her role further supports Parker and Spiderman, which is what the whole movie is about.
Chemistry
Tobey Maguire & Kirsten Dunst - Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone
Now i cant talk about the two heroes and heroines separately and say i am a love story addict. From the orginal Spiderman the love story can always be sumed up by Spiderman's upside down kiss with Mary Jane. It so different bewteen the films cause Gwen knows that Parker isSpiderman but Mary Jane is left to find out later throughout the Spiderman series. I waited till the last bit of the 2012 remake film for that kiss but i guess Marc Webb felt he could do without.
2002- 2012
Okay back to the film being SPIDERMAN himself. There are obvious technology and times differences between the films and it has been a decade since a new interpretation of Spiderman was introduced. The technolgoy of the stunts Spiderman can now do on films was obvious throughout the 2012 verison. As Gordon mentioned before there was the obvious spiderman suit differences, and the creation of spiderweb. Andrew Garfield as Parker was a science nerd like his father who was able to create his own gadget to produce the web.
The whole 2012 is surrounding the 'Decay Rate Algorithm' and Oscorp's ability to regenerate lost limbs for humans. The influence of science is evident and the plot of Spiderman is full of high tech and gadgets. Im glad they decided to remake the film as it was long due for this generation :)
If you haven't already definitely watch Spiderman 2002 and The Amazing Spiderman 2012, they are not a let down to all the Super hero movies out there. Be sure to check out Gordon's blog and his link to the trailer of The Amazing Spiderman 2012 :)
Till Next Time -C <3
